1 and 2 Thess. indicates that a Jewish Temple will be functioning and the antichrist will 'take his seat in that temple' before the 2nd coming of Messiah. If you're a Christian, you know what's coming. I, personally, am not anxious or eager for that 'day' to arrive because it will involve catastrophic events that are world-wide; and it's easy to see the groundwork being laid right this minute. Nearly all the preparation by the Levites have been made; even the red heifer and the implements needed for the worship services. That's one interpetration of Revelations (according to John), but not the only one. And I for one, as someone who has read that book of the bible many times (perhaps to one to many) don't belive in the prophetic interpretation of that book. I subscribe to the historical view. I once did, but not anymore. Are you referring to Revelation or 1 and 2 Thess.? It all goes together. All the apostles were speaking of the same event but with different emphasis's. We can't pick it apart. There is so much mere humanity can not see; but even while I claim affinity with Thomas, I can *see* things that blow my mind and cause me to realize that my understanding is 'child-like' and the world is on it's prescribed course. Even as a Christian....that's frightening and awe-inspiring. The 'historical' view is only partial and a procurer. All Biblical history is progressive and unfolding more quickly as the time approaches. I sometimes wish I didn't know anything; but once we learn/know, we can't pretend... seems 2me that, one always believe in what one can believe in, other wise, one would have believed in a different belief .. !! .. -)) |
