Does anyone else get the feeling that the world leaders know more then they are telling the public. Like perhaps we are all screwed in the next 5-10 years and that the earth will split in half or something wild and crazy like that. Seems like we are living an episode from the X-files show - where all of the sudden the public is told - "BTW a global freeze is going to happen because we have screwed up the earth and oh - you won't be able to keep warm as energy will be limited to certain eschalons of people - and BTW - an alien life form also plans to invade and round up people for food".

Dunno -- all of the sudden everyone is deeply concerned - worldwide and seeing how the russian gas lin...

they know stuff they don't tell or can't tell - always have !
like : would we be better off to know that there were aliens living next door so that we would panic or get suicidal ? no
so "they" would (instead) trickle this info to us thru sci-fi -- not all of a sudden BLAM!
i used to look things up i saw on sci-fi - because they sounded so real & they were!
stuff like the cia projects & experiments-- i first heard directly about them on none other than the sci-fi channel
--if they put it on USA channel - don't ya think the people would go berserk or something !? i do .

Sci-fi writers are just very good researchers and very imagnitive folks. The shows usually just cobble together some science fact in an impressive way, that is really the only correlation
