dulios says: It can be easy in such a moment of triumph to lose sight of the agony wrought by the unrelieved evil of racism and to forget how crucial a role anti-black racism played in shaping American life since the first slaves were dumped ashore 400 years ago. The multiracial crowds dancing with unrestrained joy from coast to coast on Tuesday night were proof that the promise of America lives — and that you can’t always hang your hat on logic. Great clip. Great truths. I think many of us were amazed at how deep and strong the feelings behind all this were -- only when Obama's victory was actually declared did so much joy, tears, dance, cheers, chants and song suddenly get released and flood to the surface. A historic event. One of the best in our lives. I couldn't believe it took so long to call Indiana, and then to see it go blue! If I couldn't believe it as an Illinoisan, I'm sure you freaked out as a Hoosier! Edesem! It really happened! No more patriotism bashing, no more questioning one's dedication to country and family, no more claiming God loves only Republicans! No more Bush! No more Rove! No more Cheney! On January 20th, 2009, there will be nary a Bush nor a Dole in elected office for the first time in 50 years! And 28 years of Reagan-Bush-Clinton will come to an end! Halle-fuckin'-lujah !!!! It's about damned time! Joy to the World! It is like America has grown a new lung! Fresh new oxygen. Fresh new input and energy moving in a positive direction so that not only America benefits but the whole world! It's going to take a lot of hard work but I believe with the unity that has been demonstrated thus far from the country that we will have a administration that can accomplish it's goals for the betterment of the country and mankind. yes..take a bow america... and don't forget the KY, because while your bent over Obama is going to screw this country royally. Mark my words. Gird your loins. Yeah, unlike the last 7 years where Cheney gave America and the world the reach around without even saving thank you. I got to wonder where is the portal to fifth dimension where all the wing nuts think that everything under Bush was wonderful and that he is the perfect president. Why do they think Obama got elected in the first place and why people where cheering on the streets? Reality smacks them in the face and they keep coming back for more! Amazing! Yea...maybe this is a dream of fauxxpas. |
