debbyski says: They should be ashamed to call themselves Christians with this hate-filled role they played against human beings. They should be ashamed, at least. Some of them, in good conscience, have left the church. Good for them. The good news is that the CA Supreme Court has agreed to hear 3 cases in March that challenges the validity of Prop 8. I'm convinced that people of all faiths will more and more come to believe that discriminating against gays in any way is simply wrong--just as discrimination against blacks or women, which was once justified on religious grounds, is wrong. It's only a matter of time. Gays are already winning the cultural war. Our economy has fallen apart, people are losing their jobs and homes...all the money they spent could have been put to better use. The should examine their priorities. Spread hate or help .... hmmm, why is that so tough? Especially because (and excuse me for being crass and mercenary here), according to UCLA research, keeping same-sex marriage legal would have resulted in the state collecting roughly $63.8 million in government tax and fee revenue over three years. So not only are these people allowing fear and hate to motivate them, they're also not real solid on economics. *sigh* The true definition of a Christian IMHO is to love and care for all fellow humans. I am sure this is what God wants for us. Not everyone has to believe or even support gay marriage but they should at least support a humans right to have and exercise their free will without government intervention. The good news is that the CA Supreme Court has agreed to hear 3 cases in March that challenges the validity of Prop 8.- HORRAY! |
