Many of the unknown species are microorganisms, whose contributions to the ecosystem seems to be widely underestimated or ignored, but their numbers, and reproductive ability makes them low on the endangered species list. It's as though any thing bigger than an ant that does not suit our needs, is unnecessary, and an impediment, to the ability of mankind to move in and devastate what we can still find in the way of space that is not yet inhabited.
