It's as though there has been a picture of genes making there primary direct contribution until birth, after which the perform a series of standard operations and remain set. It seems there direct involvement continues, and their changes are a reaction to ongoing outside input, where a change in behavior can produce that will flick a gene switch or the reverse. We have been looking for expressions in genes that have physical properties, because they are easier to identify, and trace.
