Maybe someone could help me with this question I have: What actually makes a marriage legal? The marriage ceremony as it is now is a modern invention. The government requires a license. In the Church it has to be an actual church official with witnesses. Civil ceremonies are legal. In actual fact is all that is actually required is a legally recognized official, a license, and a signed paper of intention with witnesses. (my question mark isn`t working)
