I always use the internet with the understanding that anything I do or write is by definition in the public domain.
The internet is a bad place to try and keep a secret. I also figure if I have cookies enabled, I can wipe out the trackers, and if any had a genuine use, they would be reinstalled when I revisited the site. I see the internet as a means of communicating on a new level,I've stopped trying to expect privacy on the internet, and hope maybe if the administrations of various countries listen to the people, even covertly they might learn something. What the people are learning as a result of the same freedom of information is profound. The internet will not be a place we can expect ...

The REAL Napster
I have some more bad news for you. MS in their infinite wisdom created a local web browser database named INDEX.DAT This file logs EVERY web page that has ever been visited on that computer, regardless of what user or profile. This file used to be open but is now weakly encrypted. You can use third party apps now to browse this file and see what everyone has been doing since thwe computer was first turned on.. Privacy is an illusion. If you want privacy you'd better leave the planet because you won't find it here.

I'm not certain who, besides someone who uses the computer in question, can access the index.dat file. Anyone here know?

I do know that index.dat contains a metric ton of private data, which is why I've deleted it every month since I got online in '96. Used to be a rather kludgy thing to do, but these days there's free deletion software which makes the task easy.

If we are all growing & waking up in a spiritual sense(Seeing ourselves as one.(Global conscious)) then in my opinion it seems to reason fear should start to subside. The internet in my view has become a very powerful tool for witnessing the evolution of the spirit(Operating System-Mind) of man. What we are viewing on a global is a mind divided. (Those who live & govern in fear & those who are choosing to live otherwise.) The term schizophrenia describes a condition that in my view could well be applied to humanity in general today.

The internet is a great place, but like the real world you have to BE AWARE and PREPARE. Even your emails go into the Google database. I first learned about that in the late 1990's.

Have you ever wondered why there are no real real world venues that provide information about these privacy and protection issues?

Access these websites to learn from one of the original geek groups that will answer your questions too.
