Be careful out there, Invictus. I heard about a prosecutor going after the ruling party. Not good news if they overturn the election results. Keep your head down. The kemalist-islamist tension is worrying, and also the geopolitical situation especially concerning northern Iraq. Thoughts go out to the people of Turkey. Mousie, ratilfar, abailart, thank you very much for your comments. This terrorist attack came when the political life in Turkey was dealing with one of the the most critical turmoils in the history of Republic. First, as you know, the ruling party is being prosecuted for becoming the "center of the anti-secular movements" in the country. And second, simultaneously with this case, public prosecutors have been investigating the most dangerous "covert organization" in Turkish history, code named "Ergenekon"; an ultra-nationalist group, founded by retired army generals, some NGO administrators, journalists and academicians who have been planning a coup against the government. Tension is very hi... If Turkey explodes (and I hope to the Almighty it doesn't the world doesn't need another Civil War) then it will surely spill into Northern Iraq, Iran and who knows where else. Greece might even take a crack at those disputed islands not to mention it could derail the progress in Cyprus. I hope everything gets sorted out for the best. ahh! somehow i missed this, hope all is well with you, invictus. Thank you very much Wildcat, I'm well but unfortunately I can't (yet) say the same for my country. Let's hope today's High Court verdict will help easing the tension here. Take care of yourself, invictus! |
