If you've never hidden from your boss, you should try it (assuming it's possible in your situation). It's quite satisfying.

Thing is, some days he is downright decent. He's told other people on a number of occasions how valuable I am to the company. YET, 9 times out of 10 the only thing he succeeds in doing is micromanaging me and others to the point where we feel he doesn't think we're capable.

Yeah, I know how that is. People aren't like flat characters in literature, so they have their good days.

I'm EXCELLENT at finding useless jobs to do. Not only am I tucked away in some corner and not really available, but I'm also a great employee for doing the things no one else would think of, taking initiative.
