I wonder why Edwards cheated himself out of the $45,000 extra dollars top tier Republicans usually charge.

His status as a possible presidential candidate helped persuade Eric Money, the student head of the Oklahoma State speaker’s board, to shell out $100,000 for a Giuliani speech last March 24. The money represented the lion’s share of the roughly $120,000 in activity fees raised annually by a 25-cent surcharge on each Oklahoma State University student’s credit hours, though the university carried a surplus of funds from the previous year.
On top of that and in addition to the speaker fee:

In one speech last year at Oklahoma State University, Giuliani requested an...

Don't bother, the irony of this clip is much too subtle for you.

The irony is that the rich state paid less for their speaker than the Oklahoma State Sooners in the poorer state. I guess Oklahoma never heard a penny saved is a penny earned.

So you believe UC Davis to be a larger university that Oklahoma State? Like I said, this whole thing is just over your head.

Just an FYI
UC Davis has 30,000 students. UO has 29,000 students.

I do want to make a correction and an apology.

I apologize to Oklahoma State for associating them with Sooners their arch-rivals. Oklahoma State is a fine school.

Apparently n2 didn't notice my subtle jab.

Aside from that I don't think sooners should get into a comparison battle with UC-Davis. It is one of the premier research institutions in the nation. Mean freshman GPA admitted this year 3.89.

$55,000 is not an exorbitant speaker fee these days. Shame on Giuliani for bilking those hard working Oklahoma St. Cowboy students out of their hard earned money.

The numbers I saw put them both in the 24,000 student range and both have endowments in the hundreds of millions. The money is pretty much chump change.

Now back to the topic. The irony is John 'two Americas' Edwards charging $55k to speak on POVERTY. A guy who made nearly $300k in nine nights speaking on how to avoid poverty. Sounds right up there with those guys who sell books on how to get rich. Step one, write a book on how to get rich...

Takes a lot of money to be President these days.

I applaud Edwards for taking less than half the speaker fee Giuliani charged at Oklahoma State.

Of course you do. You applaud anything democrats do and bash republicans no matter what. You are more predictable than sunrise.
