The 3600-year-old Bronze Age artifact is one of the most spectacular findings for archaeoastronomy. Controversy continues on the function and the usage of the "star disc" but most scholars believe it was designed as a "celestial map" to mark the significant days in a year.

Glad you liked it Dorine. Actually, more than a year ago I clipped a more detailed article about Nebra Disc which gave in depth information about it. I'd love to give a link of it too as a background info but unfortunately it was one of those "ancient" clips that had 2000 characters, so it's now hiding in my collections as a "private clip".
