<P>Constructionism also explores the tools with which we use to learn. For 
Papert, computers and other digital manipulatives (<A 
href="http://web.media.mit.edu/~mres/papers/lifelongk/index.html" 
target=_blank>Resnick</A>) can be used with which to design, create, and invent 
things-that is, these technologies can be used as tools with which to engage in 
meaningful, problem-based learning. It is important to stress however, that 
these may not be the only or the best tools to use. I think that using tools is 
essential-be it a paintbrush, a shovel, or a computer. It is all a matter of 
what we assume about the tools we use-about their usefulness, their need, their 
purpose, etc. This is another facet from which we can further explore teaching 
and learning in my undergrad education program and beyond.</P></blockquote><div style="height: 2px; font-size: 2px; background: #dcdcdc; border-bottom: solid 1px #f5f5f5; margin: 2px 4px;"></div><blockquote style="text-align: left; padding: 0px 8px; margin: 4px 0px 8px 0px; background: transparent; border: none;" cite="http://edutrina.info/?p=67">and uses the ideas around constructivism for the purpose of engaging children in 
meaningful learning-that is, learning that is authentic, constructive, 
intentional, collaborative, and active (<A
