<B>Description:</B> Athanasius championed the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity that resulted in the development of the Nicene Creed. Although not written by Athanasius himself, the Athanasian Creed, which most likely originated in the 5th century, does reflect the theology of the Church that was so ably defended by him.
