It has befuddled me for years that people become so upset at the idea of someone not wanting to suffer and yet the same people wouldn't know that 600 people have died due to cholera in Zimbabwe.

Look at this.

Touching. Choice is what it is about. A teenager makes a wrong choice and then no more. We have so little freedom of choice that we will clutch at wrong decisions. We try to make a decision that affects only the self, and allow others to go through life without the burden of watching self suffer. People who don't even know you, or your case, try to stop you.
We need to redevelop trust in other peoples' personal decisions.
