gingembre says: That's it--I'm going to start using my Spanish and continue my French lessons! I wish I was bilingual or beyond. I took French for 3 years in high school, but never kept it up and can't remember much. Been picking up bits and pieces of Spanish living in New York but a long way to go before I can hold a conversation. Good luck with your lessons gingembre! Thanks, Adam. I studied Spanish for several years in school but have used it only occasionally since then. Recently I decided to brush up on it with the hope of being able to be conversant enough to tutor Hispanic students. I had a lot of fun practicing my rusty Spanish in a favorite Mexican restaurant, lubricated by the best margaritas I've ever had. I used to speak Spanish in my French class because my brain couldn't keep them straight (they are so similar). debbyski, I think we lose the ability to discern certain sounds in a language if we aren't exposed to them when we are young. Fabulous news! I'm going to sit back and relax and enjoy my multilinguicity even more now! Multilinguicity? Is that even a word? Well, it is now! A limerick inspired by thisnamecantbetaken: Enjoy your multilinguicity Expressed with the utmost felicity Your dendrites will sprout And frolic about Enhancing your brain’s perceptivity Ta da! gingembre *LMAO* |
