thisnamecantbetaken says: They really have a lot of the capacities that we so-called higher human beings possess. This, from an insect! Yet humans still treat animals as second-class citizens of this planet. Let's hope we still have bees around in the future. The bee die-off, or "colony collapse disorder" has still not been resolved. We need them, more than they need us, that's for sure. The Aussies have taught the bees to count and the Kiwis have found another use for sheep - food. On a side note, I am deathly afraid of bees. Last year, I was almost mauled to death by a bee in the US and in the sheer panic of the whole ordeal, the bee died. My friends said, that I had probably killed the last bee in the whole state. I hope that isn't true, but I often think about that. Poor bee. The bee die-off ... has still not been resolved Well at least our brain is much bigger, even though we don't use it more than that bee does I am alergic to bee venom but think they are wonderful creatures. And you are right 'thisnamecantbetaken' we do look at animals like second class citizens of this planet. But the truth is, they are more often smarter then humans! at least our brain is much biggerPea brain vs. bee brain. . lo Well here at my house in Indiana there is a healthy hive eating my clover. I, for one, welcome our new buzzing overlords! Spiders were catching dinner in webs-nets millions of years before humans could. Here's a really smart spider. That such a little spider brain can do all this planning, is amazing. Portia Labiata: the spider so smart it puts mammals to shame Here's a funny spider video, just for laughs. . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHzdsFiBbFc |
