This is why we need a single-payer system. Most Americans are covered by health insurance and are healthy. Their insurance premiums are lining the pockets of health-insurance industry executives. Better that they pay for expenses of the needy such as Connie. That way, no one's taxes need to go up. Of course, a dozen or so overpaid execs will have to look for a legitimate way to earn a living, but that seems like a small price to pay.
