lifecyce1898 says: Is your parrot smarter than a 5th grader? "I can talk, can you fly?" Very cool clip. I have a licensed rescued companion Ca. Scrub Jay. Perceived as loud and obnoxious by many they are from that. I got him at 2 days old at most. He is now over ten. I have seen him do the most amazing things. Recently scientists discovered they are the smartest of all Covids and have better spatial memory than we do, and remember and plan in ways that animals are not supposed to be able to do. I think many animals exceed are perceptions of intelligence. Blue, my companion knows when I am sick, if I am sad or happy. He brings me food when i am ill, he sings softly to me when I am sad. He can even dance to music far better than my skinny ass can! Scrub Jays are incredibly bright and bold. They will land on your hand to take a peanut and if a pile of them are left the 1st Scrub Jay will pick each 1 up and take the heaviest one first. One day in the local mountains I threw out some peanuts and the Jay's came quickly. The alpa Jay was standing guard to fend of all invaders. One of the other Jays made several unsuccessful attempts to get a peanut, then he found an empty shell away from the pile being guarded. He started to play with it as if it were a complete peanut. The Alpha Jay took off after him, the other Jay then went straight for the peanuts and flew off with his prize. I had to pinch myself! well you must know it better They are pretty smart. I have a CAG, who is simply amazing. I rescued her when she was only 6. She's incredible. |
