Can it really be that we would consider electing a president whose staff says a joke about women enjoying rape is "McCain being McCain"? Wow! McCain really needs to check his memory of he can't remember something like that. Um... its a (tasteless) joke. Why is it we expect politicos not to be human, not to be petty, not to tell tasteless jokes. I've told worse, and I've heard worse. People who can't take a joke are worse than those who tell (tasteless and crass) jokes. Just fricken words people. We expect it - we ought to demand it - because politicians at this level will have every word scrutinized by much of the world. Self-control over tasteless and inflammatory comments (and this -women supposedly liking to be raped - is a hugely tender point with millions of Americans) is a part of the job. Nothing a President says is "just fricken words." |
