Retailers have unveiled an array of pre-order deals for the eagerly awaited new Dan Brown novel, The Lost Symbol, due out on 15th September.

W H Smith is guaranteeing a price of £7.99. Customers must pay a £2 deposit and in return receive a book of vouchers with offers for other Transworld authors. For example, customers can buy one Simon Kernick title and get one free, or buy his latest hardback, Target, at half price.

Borders is offering customers £6 off the r.r.p. of £18.99 as well as free copies of David Hewson’s The Lizard’s Bite (Macmillan) and James Twining’s The Double Eagle (HarperCollins).

Amazon, Play.com, Waterstone’s and Tesco are offering The Lost Symbol at a half price pre-order of £9.49. Asda is selling it for £13.33 online.
