It was in 2002, the first time a publicly owned and operated golf course was chosen to host the <A name="&lid=spotlight&lpos=ilnk_1969_1"  class="ilnk" href="http://www.answers.com/topic/u-s-open" linkindex="237">US Open</A>, and the event drew record-breaking crowds. Woods — the only golfer to score under <A name="&lid=spotlight&lpos=ilnk_1969_1"  class="ilnk" href="http://www.answers.com/topic/par" linkindex="238">par</A> — won the tournament. Today, round two tees off on the park's Black Course, considered one of the most difficult golf courses in America.
