debbyski says: "My guess is that most voters don’t see John McCain as an angry candidate, despite several very public lapses. The mythical John McCain is an affable, straight-talking, moderately conservative war hero who is an expert on foreign policy. Barack Obama is not the only candidate the voters need to know more about. " Back in 2007, a reporter asked McCain if he supported U.S. funded distribution of condoms in Africa to fight HIV transmission. McCain had a long series of awkward pauses and glances and later his press secretary said that the senator has a record of voting against using government money to finance the distribution of condoms. My question is this: What kind of a moderate, what kind of a mind, what kind of a human being, opposes the provision of condoms to save lives--in a region where 1 million died of AIDS in 2005 alone, leaving 12 million orphans and where some (cont) 25 million are infected with HIV--just to pander to "Christians" who think sex is worse than death? Another item worthy of mention: He enthusiastically supported Chenrumbush's illegal and immoral war in Iraq, and the surge which McCain didn't think was big enough. Pour more lives down that oilwell. The thought of McCain's famous "short fuse" being connected to America's nuclear arsenal? *shudder* This is the compassion he has for the families of the MIAs of Vietnam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qvbXX7qZ9o This is his Diplomacy I guess. Great speaker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCXOZpwT2ek&feature=related He needs to go in the Green Zone and buy some more rugs for his Stepford Wife.Lipstick, rouge, and paint, everything she ain't. I like sugar and spice, everything nice. He has not any compassion, Bush' third term. I would suggest a reading of the attached for more information on McCain... http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120951606847454685.html?mod=djemEditorialPage of course you would probably prefer not to after seeing who the messenger is... of course it doesn't make the story any less true... Thank you for the link Bmueppls. I really do appreciate the chance to comment on the author of this particular opinion piece. It is so interesting that the same author is connected to the attacks on John McCain in 2000. Of course he talks the talk--before every election--and he is the most powerful political consultant in American history. Rove has been quoted as saying that politics is "a gigantic war". What he means is clear: War first against liberalism in all forms; and against all remnants of moderation and bipartisanship. Under his direction, the administration's highest purpose was not to serve the country but to achieve permanent Republican rule. Although I can go on and on w... GW shooting the right bird, Ann Richards did, Cheney shot the wrong bird, do we want these people shooting more birds.I like McCain, just not the right person, smart man; but a problem with war, which I can not put a burden on him for he served, but not has the ability to let loose and forgive. Our country needs a bit more at this time and point. We need to protect our future and give our GREAT military a breather, these ladies and gentlemen have given much, with little in return, let us give them the help that they will need in the future and right NOW. |
