srenshaw says: Unfortunately, I suspect that the "enquiring minds" are just enquiring elsewhere Whenever I see these magazines at the checkout line I immediately picture them lining the bottom of a birdcage. I find it hard to imagine how they wouldn't lose money. Does anyone actually purchase them? I must admit I'm a sucker for the National Enguirer. My step dad had every one from the time I was like 8 till 18. I'm not that bad, but every once in a while I do get one. I think it's kind of fun to read. In a way, a lot like the onion. djkraz, you scared me there for a second...i thought you were saying that you read the National Enquirer. At least you're sticking to the Enguirer. Huh, I think it's time to start thinking about a built in spell checker! The operative word here is MINDS. People with even half of one wouldn't be caught dead reading any of those three. Although they might make good toilet paper if I was out in the wilderness with nothing else at my disposal. Nah. On second thought I don't want to insult my body like that. I guess I'm either dead or only have half a mind... I would agree with you if you were only refering to people that still believe the crap in it is real. I once had my sister in law quote something she saw on the internet that originated from the onion and she truely believed. Obviously she doesn't have half a mind. The man in black movies(MIB) indicated that these mags are very valuable Aww djkraz, I didn’t mean to infer either about you (dead or half-minded)! It’s just that I thought the only people who would indeed buy the National Enquirer et al were people who DID believe what they read. Mea culpa. So to the others who are buying it for bird cage lining or science fiction reading or amusement or to see just how outrageously these pubs can lie, I apologize for grouping you in with the believers. No problem Baystater... I actually expected to get a lot more critisizm than I did for admitting to reading such garbage. I guess we all have our guilty pleasures right? |
