She had a minor operation. First time in hospital so she was quite nervous. The surgery was good and she is recovering at home. Thank you well-wishers all..

All the best to you and Anne; comfort, joy and, of course, rum toddy's. Have a peaceful Solstice / Christmas / Saturnalia (why not try all three . .or more).

In all likelihood it won't be anywhere near as bad as she imagines. Just have her walk through the pediatric ward for some strength. Best of good wishes and good fortune to you both.

Drunk man with his new female buddy from a party by the side rang the bell. Furious wife open the door. He put the finger to his lips, glancing over the shoulder:
- Tsss, tell her you are my sister...

Aw! A first stay in the hospital can be daunting at ANY age! Please give your wife a hug from me. I saw your title and had to come here to see what happened. The joke was funny. I read the comments and hope whatever she's going in for will be taken care of. Take care yourself. Life's short. Live full.

Hi aklimento, chedare and peepod, that is so nice, Anne is very cheered by your posts. we have just had breakfast, Anne made the porridge today (a bit overcooked I thought!) . She says 'the love that comes from everybody is amazing'.
Thanks again,

Best wishes to Anne. It's normal to be nervous but they should take good care of you. I've always found nurses to be very caring, knowledgeable and kind.

Someone once said, "laughter is good medicine." I see you are already at work administering the cure. Nice joke.

I lost my mom in May after a very long and painful battle. I will tell you what was invaluable was setting up a care page online. The amount of love and support received there helped all involved.

God be with you both.

Thanks for the kind words Maxwell, Anne is uplifted by all the responses.
Sorry to hear about your Mom. The information about Carepage is interesting and we might register there.
I have only been a member of this site for quite a short while but I can see that a real 'community' spirit seems to develop among people of similar backgrounds and interests. Which is good.

Anne had her gall bladder yesterday using key-hole surgery. She didn't even stay in overnight. Thanks everyone for the encouragement and God bless the NHS. She is doing well although she is suffering pain.

Well that worry has been nicely dealt with just in time for Christmas - good news - now then, Jimbo hope you' are handy with pots and pans. Sit back and relax, Anne, all the best
