In a “You are Commanded … ” notice, the farmers were ordered to gather up five years of invoices, receipts, and all other papers relating to their soybean and herbicide purchases, and to have the documents delivered to a law office in St. Louis. Monsanto gave them two weeks to comply. Sick and sad. Too much power. Where is the legal aid in these matters and counter suits? Hard on the battlers and someone legal should be there getting their name in the paper. I worked in health food stores in the 90's, and we've been getting crapped on my Monsanto for years. This corporation terrifies me--and government can't seem to regulate it. When people whine about organic foods being expensive, I try to explain the hidden costs of 'conventional' farming methods. Monsanto is causing starvation and environmental catastrophe. Despicible action in the name of profit. Read the entire piece and you'll agree. |
