Silkweaver says: At the current state of our planet, and mounting evidence to human induced climate change, these rich resources of fossil fuels are nothing short of a Faustian proposition. we're providing the same information to everyone in the world so that the global community can make those difficult decisions.what global community? who will decide? An imaginary friend of whomever and an oxymoron. I read it...What are you gunna do about it Now that you have read it, it seems you must form an active stance regarding what to do with it.... mounting evidence to human induced climate change OMG... there is no mounting evidence, only fudged statistics to support the grants to the scientists. Now if you want to discuss the actual causations of the solar cycles and the effects on the Earth, Mars, and other planets... I'm in... So just how do you plan on affecting the sun? Humans have miniscule effects on the earth... global cycles are natural and recurring and self balancing... bmeuppls: Suppose you are right, and all these thousands of scientific researches are just mistaken. Still, does it seems to you a really good idea to burn these 90 billion barrels into the atmosphere? Indeed OMG... Why not... the Kyoto protocols only called for the US and industrialized nations to curb their limits. We are already reducing faster than the countries that actually signed the d*mned thing. The areas where pollution is the worst? China and India... and these are the countries where they have fewer cars per capita and tend to use public transportation and bicycles way more than we do. I have no objection to moving to alternative fuels over time, but there is no cause for all this alarmist rhetoric. The calls for spending by Gore and the rest are a trojan horse to weaken our economy and redistribute our wealth. Now that our economy is weakened against the Yen and the Euro, ... i didn't read it.. POPPED for comments by bmeuppls...the only part of this whole thread based on fact. Well, I would not argue with facts, however facts aren't always everything that's important. I was not referring to the policy of one country. I try to relate to a wider picture of all humanity, though admittedly it might sound naive. And if we are about facts, the use of energy per capita in the USA and few other industrialized countries exceeds by far that of most of the citizens of this planet. Reducing emissions should be calculated accordingly. But that is besides the point if countries like China and India will not participate in the effort. But that is besides the point if countries like China and India will not participate in the effort.Which is exactly why it made no sense for the U.S. to get knifed by the Kyoto protocol. Yet, people with very low I.Q. levels questioned this 'inaction' by the U.S. |
