The New Testament does not preach this concept. In fact, it preaches the opposite.

If not the Bible, any other convenient excuse to justify their actions would likely be used by the less than circumspect. Manifest Destiny, etc. The Bible just happens to have greater distribution.

katswteevns, there are at least as many people who take the "dominion" bit to heart while ignoring the "stewardship" part. Almost everyone who uses the bible only pays attention to the parts that seem to say what they want it to and ignore the rest. When was the last time you met someone who observed the law about not wearing two different kinds of fabrics?

God gave the Earth to man to exploit and use in whatever way he saw fit in order to populate the world.
NOT GOD gave us dominion not ignorant control, Can anybody think anymore? WAKE UP!
