This is a created crisis that has been allowed to escalate to humiliating proportions. The Navy vessel turned tail and ran!!!....not wanting "to escalate the situation."

If the President doesn't allow the military to deal with 4 pirates in a lifeboat, we are INDEED doomed when confronted by Iran, Russia, N. Korea, etc... It's now more understandable as to why the military's budget is being cut; there's no plans to use our military!

In times of crisis - his yellow streak shines through. If the pirates are allowed to beach and take disappear in Somalia - then we have lost - the US Navy beaten back by four ignorant pirates with small arms. Obama will of course be seen as a hero for avoiding a conflict and he will be more adored.

Maybe Obama can get a quick UN sanction against the priates - that surely would scare the hell out of them.

If obama allows the navy to end it he had better hurry up - the closer to land the less options are available. If they reach land and he gives the ok - more lives are at risk. Hopefully it works out well for Capt Phillips and tragically for the pirates. We sure as hell do not want to capture them - they would become a hot-potatoe like the detainees at Gitmo and give liberals someone else to cuddle up to.
