BBW, that's because you read only the ones you don't. Look at my history. And anyway you're not forced to comment on the ones you don't like, that would (maybe) allow us to have civilized discussions with people really interested in those discussions, not just wanting to flame. Some people out there disagrees with my opinions but are still interested in discussing them. I'm sorry you don't.

Well Gman, as soon as the current round of "discussions" is over, I think I'll try to ignore any further political and/or religious posts by you and invictus. Maybe then we can get back to being good pals again. (that was more or less a joke so don't take it sarcastically as it sounds)

You should have already done this if my or Guillaume's (or anybody's) clips are making you angry or feel offended and you feel no consensus is possible. Not a joke. At least, we have some common point to agree There are some clips or comments that I find unacceptable posted by some people here (not mentioning you) and mostly I have been ignoring them if I see the differences as being "unbridgeable".

Because BigBadWolf, Clipmarks is also an individual tool for collecting and archiving information. The "sharing" part...

By the way Guillaume, I've just installed the extension and it's really great! I think one of the best features is the option for restoring the closed tabs. I sometimes accidentally close a tab and lose the source page (or dive into history to find what the URL was.) But this extension brings a real comfort. Thanks.

But you can be sure that neither me, nor Guillaume was hired by the Anti-Christ (or Saddam).

Same for me! Since I began to use the Fox, I usually have like 3 windows each with 10 or 12 tabs on them. Sometimes I accidentally closed a whole window, losing all I had decided to come to later... This is history now!

Another interesting feature is the "session" one. I can close all my windows and go to bed, and I know I'll be able to reopen them all again later exactly in the same way they were before. That's great.

Right, the session management is great. And there are also some very flexible and useful adjustments for the behaviour when you click on the links (like to be opened in a new window, current tab or new tab.)

The extension thing is among the features which makes Firefox superior to IE. I've been using FF since May 2004 and I never felt myself so comfortable with a browser before.

I will have to (not begrudgingly mind you) agree with both Gman and invictus here. I originally switch to FF because IE was so vulberable. At first it felt a little awkward but now I have become so comfy with FF that whenever I have to run IE I am lost.

Hey BBW, if you want there is a way to NEVER have to use IE again. There is a "portable" version of the Fox.
http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/browsers/portable_firefox

You install it on a USB key, and wherever you go, you can just plug that in, and off you go: your own Firefox, with your profile, your bookmarks, your cookies, everything ! And this desn't leave anything at all on the "host" computer. Everything is run from and to the USB key.

I never get out without my portable firefox
Clipmarks, homepages, rss feeds, links, etc. everywhere !

Thanks G but I already have it along with Linux boot on my USB drive. What I was referring to are sites that still insist on IE. While I've found tricks to work around many of them, there are times I have no choice. Besides, being a Webmaster I have to test our pages in quite a few different browsers for compatibility.

I'm astounded and in a little bit in awe to see that the Great Clipmarks Religious War of 2006 are so epic, they spill over into every discussion...even the techy Firefox threads!

Anyway, mega-dittos on this sentiment:
Best Tab extension out there. Recommended.
I can't imagine using FF without it. In fact, I'll offer my own TMP settings file to others to import if they're interested. It's the bomb extension.

I use this one every day, too, G. So convenient. (Though it doesn't yet reproduce *all* the features of IE from within FF. But it provides a handy "View Page in External Application" menu option for those rare cases when you need to fire up IE proper. [Make sure to shut that baby down as soon as you're done!])
