      two meals a day were served. Our modern luncheon was called “dinner” 
      and was served in the morning, between 10 and 11, whilst supper was served 
      between 4 and 7 o’clock.
At the end of the Middle Ages, food was very rich in meat and it was not 
      until the 19<SUP>th</SUP> century that such a high level of meat consumption was to
