No, the Cheney/Bush gang didn't go to the heights (or should I say lows) of the Nazis (at least not in the home front, Iraq is another story entirely) but they certainly they had authoritarian/fascist tendencies. In fact most of the successful fascist states (that survived for more than a couple of years) never went as far as the Nazis but where horrible none the less.

Just ask the Argentinians, Brazilians, Chileans, Italians, Portuguese and Spaniards.

Personally, I referred to the bush/Cheney regime as "proto-fascist" based on these criteria.
