Still, does pain-free meat really mean guilt-free?
No,definitely not.

Good clip.
I think dealing with the pain 'problem' does in fact lessen the 'feel bad 'factor of meat eating.

Eating meat bothers me on a deep level if I think about it. So I try not to think about it TN.

If I thought I could stick to it, I'd be a vegetarian.

Well I think they have already found a way to grow animal flesh without bringing a brain to life.

I guess that would be far more ethical but who wants to be the marketer trying to get the public to buy it.

Want to get a scathing look from the checkout cashier. Buy rabbit from the meat counter. ( Market Basket carries it.)

"Are Pain-Free Animals the Future of Meat?"

No, it is the future of humankind wanting to feel better way before having redefined (and felt) what's immoral.

That philosopher sucks when saying there's is an ethical duty to consider the option. If there is an ethical duty to be considered, the only right thing to do is to stop actions that are considered unethical. You can not bend the rules beforehand.

What about plants that comprise part of our daily intake?

To harvest potatoes you have to kill the plant. To harvest a carrot you have to kill the plant.

Plants feel pain.

Where do we draw the line and why?

I draw the line at what's "natural". Plants are made to be eaten. They evolved that way and have adapted. Being eaten spreads seeds, thins out the area of too many plants etc. I can't think of any "cruel and inhumane" treatment we're afflicting on plants as such, off the top of my head. Eating meat is natural too and I have no qualms with eating organic meat that has been raised the right way, catering to their needs and habits, but the long term pain and suffering inflicted on factory farmed animals is in no way natural. It's cruel. Genetically modifying animals to accommodate our bad behaviour is not acceptable to me. Humans need to evolve and realise, that animals are, sentient and feelin...
