Don't forget that public hanging would served a purpose. I'm not up on military/government stuff, but i have read a few books, and they do things like that for a reason. Prob to keep the populace under control, for one thing, and wouldn't it have the greatest influence if you start really young? Not saying that the child Had to come, but again--a different culture.

Today I read a news about hanging a man who had killed a girl by throwing acid in her face just because she had refused his marriage proposal and although. I think he deserved to be executed , but not in public . We have to think about the soul of our kids !

Out here on the internet there is a video of a public impaling. I cannot remember which site had it but the tittle gave no hint what the video was about or where it was (Pakistan I believe) or why. Horrible and yes the crowd was enjoying it.

And yet, it's nothing new--that's prob gone on longer than we even know. ( I would hate to stumble on that)

Hangings, electric chairs, firing squads. It's all state sanctioned murder. The fact some countries still use capital punishment at all, is the creepiest part. *shudder*
