For this country to claim to have a conscience, we must do something to help these people.

The Statue of Liberty plaque reads:
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me."

But look at how we treat American citizens? It makes me sick.
