This is more important than you might think.

I've heard several scientists state that the biggest problem is overpopulation. The cynic would argue that this measure would speed this up and cut the population of Africa through famine ( there is a world food shortage and little to be shared with the less fortunate.)
This denial will also enable the spread of aids, which has the potential to clear Africa for the resource exploiters.

not all pro-lifers are against contraception- I am not. It just makes sense to avoid over population.
I do see something in here that may not have been thought of-
The AIDS epidemic is killing so many people in Africa...
and contraception does NOT stop this- lesson it somewhat( out in the bush, in the heat of the moment, where water is scarce and possibly contaminated, do we really think that they stop and wash everything with soap before and after sex as is the correct use of a condom to prevent AIDS?),It may even be exacerbating the problem, because it is making people feel "safe". ABSTINENCE prevents AIDS nearly 100%
just a thought.

This is true. However, it also assumes that Africans wouldn't be having sex if they didn't have contraception available. This is similar to the argument about giving condoms to teens; we know that they're going to have sex, regardless of the availability of contraception. Don't forget that mothers who have HIV tend to pass it along to their newborns. By denying contraception, you're encouraging the birth of HIV-infected children, as well.

We know that SOME of them are going to have sex in a culture that is overly sexualized, and even more so where it is considered appropriate and acceptable to do so.
100 years ago, teen sex and pregnancy were not rampant. They still occurred, but were not like we see them now.
We know that in prisons, there will be violence, but we restrict the use of weapons and expect people to control their carnal urges in that case, so why lower the bar for self control when it comes to other issues?
Aside from that, you have made a valid point about the HIV babies.
