09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model

Is this true?

@anonymology:
A "straw man" is a rhetorical trick. You "attack a straw man" when you counter someone's argument by refuting things they never actually said. An example would be, for example, if you said (just hypothetically) you thought the US should remove its troops from Iraq, and someone answered you by saying, "So, you support the terrorists and want there to be another 9-11?" That person would be attacking a straw man in the sense that he was refuting something you weren't actually arguing in favor of.

This is good, keen satire. I like it. I'm not really sure how you can call it a straw man attack, though. At least, I'm pretty sure there's serious intent behind a straw man. This being a joke... eh. Not so sure.

That said, even if we were talking seriously about this subject, none of those arguments are straw men. Conservatives in my town have made statements that are, if not exactly what OhBlaDi posted here, they are close enough. So keep Jordan in your non prayers tonight, as her body slowly

So if I understand this correctly, he's saying a person who works, pays taxes, makes contributions to charity & society, etc. should be denied health, dental & retirement benefits, unemployment insurance, and any other benefits strictly because of their sexual preference? Or if it's a parenting thing, then my wife & I who choose not to have kids are OK to be entitled to these benefits but homosexuals aren't?

Why are you so mixed up about the application of love? Other languages have four different words to express the different applications in which we use one word.

quick reference;
Agapeo: expression of care without required return expression of care

Phileo: expression of care and attraction in the nature of a friend

Storge: expression of care and devotion between family members ie. parent and child

Eros: expression of sexual attraction and intimate sharing.

All of these can be combined, and in the combinations there are both appropriate and inappropriate expressions. It's good to have philo-storge, a friend who is closer than a brother. It is bad to have philo-storge, a moth...

History shows us that wherever this happens, the society is due for destruction. For instance, when Rome began to legitimize this behavior after a long run of successful rule, they quickly declined and fell from within.
You need to study your history before you type this BS in.. Rome did NOT fall because of gay people... That has to be one of the silliest things I've ever heard...

A number of influences were present during the fall, including:

Regarding homosexuality and the fall of Rome: Greek culture was also accepting of homosexuality. The contributions of the Greeks to our modern society are unbounded, and are not diminished at all by the sexual orientation of Greek thinkers.

Just because someone opposes something doesn't make them predjudice or ignorant. You are basically calling someone "ignorant" or "prejudice" because they don't believe the way you believe. Isn't that the exact same thing you are complaining about? I can choose my opinion and what I believe just the same as someone can choose to be gay. The only thing you reference to is the Bible and with that you don't even quote it verbatim. And even if you did (believe me, I've heard and read it all before) it doesn't carry and factual weight. The Bible is not concrete evidential fact by any means from a logical viewpoint. A cinder block carries more weight and that is a fact both logically and physical.

The most important fact about the bible is that it was written by humans and not a God. It was written at time of the authors own ideology. There are many of those ideals that even the most righteous Christians in America ...

Let's take a look at some interesting mentions in the Bible regarding sexuality. This is only a few them as there are many more and by comparison also many more than any references to homosexuality. There should be no civil benefit for being married, period. If you want to live with someone for the rest of your life, that's great. Just don't expect me or anyone else you don't know to care. The same goes for being gay. You don't see anyone attending a "Straight Pride" parade, do you? What do you want for being gay anyway, a Pink Star? The only issue with being gay is that people are stupid enough to think that someone else being gay is a problem they need to fix. Dare I mention for all those quoting from the damned Christian bible that Leviticus (the part of the bible that condemns homosexuals to hell) also condemns Idolater's to hell, the most literal meaning of the word is "Worshippers", hence your all going to hell for worshipping Jesus, God & Mary... Meaning if your god did exist heaven would be free of Christians and would be occupied primarily by a number of small uncorrupted children/babies and people with learning difficulties (Not including the Christians).
