In New York, these laws are generally respected due to some pretty hefty consequences of breaking the ordinance, and the fact that anyone can anonymously call 311 and report the problem. That said - I was disappointed to find one of my favorite bars full of smoke this weekend. It was like a throwback to going to bars during college. I'm still getting the smoke smell out of my clothes. Ahh - wow, this is about kids and cars, I assumed it was about public places! I'm overwhemingly in support of this - I'm always amazed at parents complacency in exposing their kids to second hand smoke. |
