DevilInTheDetails says: Wow, this is not something I would have seen coming out of the Holy Land. It's an interesting theory, and it would explain an awful lot about the good ol' days of the Bible. Moses wasn't high, we were (and still are) high....with ignorance. Okay, I'll take the shots. Or, there's the possibility that the Creator of this magnificent universe actually showed up as a shrubbery to talk to a man. Creator doesn't show up to talk to any man, Creator is not a man. Moses wasn't high to have received 10 commandments from a man. Man thinks Moses received all that from a man. One may wonder where's woman in all this! well, don't recall the bible referencing the Metatron during the Ten Commandments story. I think Moses was just high, maybe the rastafarians are the only true followers of the one god. The metatron is the voice of God, haven't you seen Dogma (Alan Rickman is the shit)? No, I am not Jewish, in fact, I am a-religious. Just educated. Well, Dogma is not my favorite movie, it's not even my favorite Kevin Smith movie (Mallrats wins that battle). I was not trying to imply that others weren't educated. I have seen Very Bad Things, it is also not one of my favorite movies, but to each their own. You are correct, the Metatron is not spoken of in the bible, but in other Jewish texts along with other biblical castouts like the Rephaim (the children of God). I was using the metatron example to respond to arifsali, commenting on the belief that the creator doesn't show up to talk to man. The belief is actually that man cannot withstand or comprehend true communication with the almighty. I was raised methodist, although I have... Well, I'm sure that plenty of people have blamed religious experiences on hallucinogens in the past 3 millenia, especially when it comes to the big three relgions. Yes, he was "high" up on the mountain. I got it, and chuckled. I still haven't been able to decide if I liked Clerks better than Mallrats or not; but I definitely loved Dogma. And I think Moses was high. Clerks and Mallrats are very different movies. Clerks II was more like Mallrats than the original Clerks. I like them all (except for Jersey Girl) and can't wait for his new movie, but Mallrats will always be my fav. |
