After the hurricane of 1900 here in Galveston there were thousands of corpses. Mass burial wasn't really an option; the beach erodes and the water table is high. The first solution was a burial at sea...only to have them wash back to shore the next day. They ended up putting them in big piles on the beach and burning them. In case you didn't know, the human body doesn't really fuel fire that well, thus they smoldered for days. The wind generally blows off the gulf as well...you get the picture.
Point being, a mass grave isn't quite as ghastly in comparison. It's a good idea to know how well (or even if) you can handle large numbers of dead in a disaster.

Yes, but is it a good enough idea to put funds towards this at the expense of education and social services? They are forever thinking of ways to spend our money or to put energy into things for our 'FUTURE' when the present programs are funded with chicken feed. I don't remember this being on the ballot.
