Still one step to go for global domination of clipmarks hot clippers. Today, clipmarks, tomorrow the world...

Seriously though, how is this "hot list" generated ? What are the criteria ? Eric ? I remember we already had such a discussion, which you eluded with subtlety

Maybe the criteria is by Avatars?See,beautiful lady first, cool guy second, and then a smart boy~so,if you change your Avatar to your cute daughter's photo, you'll be the first soon I think

Of course

The hot and top clippers are based on formulas that try to guage how "popular" your clipmarks have been. it's not really affected so much by the quantity of clipmarks you post, but on how well they're received by the clipmarks community.

Top is over the long run and Hot is based on very recent activity (that's why it changes much more often).

Doesn't followers influence? So somewhere old Clipper that have follower have more chance of standing out?
Maybe there could be a small 'New Clippers' block near the top so we can welcome them!

That's great, indeed I think welcoming newcommers adds a lot to maintaining a nice community and keep a friendly spirit. Very good idea.

I agree - that's a great idea. Although this site is excellent at welcoming newcomers as it is. I can't remember the last time I felt so welcome on a site with half-an-hour of my first use of it [::gulp:: ], and it's certainly one of its finer points.
