ellen_001 says: And did we lose? Article from a conservative site, suggesting that perhaps the real war against the US was economic and we played right into it. Some partisan crap, but an intriguing idea. See full article for more.. Gosh, do you think the Arab world might use oil against us? No, not our friends the Saudis. They wouldn't do that. (dripping with sarcasm) Gosh, do you think the Arab world might use oil against us? No, not our friends the Saudis. They wouldn't do that. (dripping with sarcasm)That's beyond ridiculous. The U.S. consumes approx 25% of the worlds oil and the Saudis wouldn't deliberately undermine their own best customer. Suppose for a second, though, they did. What would they gain? Their wealth is mainly due to the U.S. and if they cutoff the oil they cutoff their own wealth. Don't you think for a minute they would like to continue the near monopoly they have on oil? Of course they would. OPEC on the other hand has quite a few other nations that would like to see the U.S. fail. Russia isn't investing in Venezula/South America for nothing you know. Is not like they didn't do that before. |
