Thorne, I registered as a Republican back in 1968 when I was first permitted to vote. And yes, this was the kind of attitude most Republicans had in those "golden days." But ever since Saint Ronald of Reagan started opening his white house to the right-wing religious zealots, slowly but surely the attitudes of the party changed. We are now left with a Republican party that does not in the slightest resemble the party I proudly joined all those years ago.
