The award-winning book, "And Tango Makes Three," tells the true story of two male penguins in the Central Park Zoo who raised an egg together. As a family, they hatch and raise a chick named 'Tango.' The 2005 book, written with simple words and colorful pictures and dedicated "to penguin lovers everywhere," topped the American Library Association's list of banned or challenged books in 2006. Why? Because people thought the book's content might not be developmentally appropriate for some children (2 dads). Now I don’t agree with pulling that book, I think those people are ignorant and overreacted…but this book?

Come on…please say this is a joke! What 4 year old, or even a 10 year old, needs to be thinking BEFORE their bodies have began to “change” that sometimes people don’t like how their bodies look, so they have surgery. I thought we were supposed to teach children to love themselves no matter what, love everybody, etc. SO now we will have another generation of image conscious, narcissistic, vain women??? What message is this book sending?? AGH!! Talk about “not developmentally appropriate”!!!
