Ask yourself this, would you be willing to put your own family into the hands of the people who did Pelosi’s face lift?

For once in her life, Pelosi is right. I'm conservative on most things, but our current healthcare system doesn't make any sense. Everyone is paying into a system that charges us a fortune in taxes and (for those lucky enough to get it) health insurance premiums. Yet 50 million of us aren't even covered. The figure is really much higher than that, but most people don't realize they aren't covered until they get that rejection letter from their insurance company. (Sorry, we don't think you need cancer surgery... or whatever.)

Just because you're paying a premium doesn't mean you're actually covered.

There is no doubt the health care system needs an overhaul. The question is how and what? Socializing medical care does not seem to be the answer. If my car is sputtering because it is running out of gas, I don't overhaul the entire car to fix it. Why not determine what is driving up costs and fix it there.

The answer for the uninsured, I think, is to have government run charity hospitals and clinics.
Those who won't or can't pay for medical care can get medical care there. There was one in operation in New Orleans for years and was highly successful. Why drag down the whole system to fit the needs to the non payers?
