Raises many questions; a) the easiest one is is it valid? why easiest because it can be one day answered, at least i assume so. b) if it is valid, should we use it? where is the line of privacy? should there be a line as such? i find it fundamentally challenging the human conceptual descriptions of what is self, identity, society and its relation. People can take everything away from you, but you must keep your mind to have your sanity. Once it is determined to be an anti-terrrorism tool we'll all have to strap one on before we eat our crunchy-wunchies in the morning. I'm glad I'm as old as I am. Life of full transparency is not unthinkable. Our concept of individuality and privacy is very recent. We may find a new kind of social and individual organization where transparency is just part of life. Such a society might wonder how could their ancestors live their secret little lives always afraid of exposure... what an age of anxiety New technology waiting to be abused. If you can't hide even in your mind those in power can easily pick out those who do not agree with them and "take care of them" accordingly. Actually the U.S. has a privately held company that used first Brainwave finger printing back in Feb 2002. The results of the test were admissable in court and set the standard by which others were to follow. |
