There is no doubt in my mind that when the media hypes a terrorist incident it is to a certain extent giving the terrorists exactly what they desire,that being the spread of terror and attention to their acts and cause. However, the alternative (Soviet controlled media for example) of NOT covering the incident or downplaying it's significance is very dangerous and unhealthy as well.

OK, some armed nut jobs got together, shot innocent people and threw some bombs. Now they're holding hostages.

Perhaps that is a satisfactory explanation for some but it is not for me.

That's it. That's the whole story. Repeating it over and over and over again is the REAL terrorism.

No it's not. The reporters and news stations are not the terrorists. I consider this story to be much more than the "molehill" brasscheck claims it to be. It is a story that needs to be covered not dismissed as insignificant.
