jatfla says: Can center to right Conservatives take back the Party?? Thank you Fred Thompson. Sarah Palin also bucked the party. There is a Tea Party Convention next year (I think February) in Nashville to kick off the election year. Sarah Palin is the keynote speaker. It's a longshot, but I can foresee the potential for a big third party movement and ultimately a merger of the Progressives into a Democratic-Republican Party, just like existed at the founding. Isn't it interesting how history repeats itself. Opposing the Democrat policies of Andrew Jackson the WHIG party was formed. Later it was replaced by the Republican party over the issue of slavery. Andrew Jackson like Barak Obama thought the Executive office was supreme. Personally I think it is past time for WE THE PEOPLE to actually give a darn whats goes on in Washington and start demanding ACCOUNTABILITY. I for one want to be given a REAL CHOICE when it comes time to elect a representative. All this party loyalty stuff and political pandering has gotten us to where we are today. We need another rejected republican to once again gain popularity, one like let's say a Ronald Wilson Reagan? What say you? I think only treason is more unpatriotic than party loyalty. |
