Interesting, though the article is a little vague on what it means by 'accomplishment'. A recent clip on the 'worthlessness' of degrees such as English Literature comes to mind. Much that is deemed as worthwhile accomplishment is set within parameters of social utility or things like 'business success'. though there are intelligences which are not isolated computer modules of an individual but attributes of a complex including values, beliefs and imagination: some such individuals question the accomplishment values of society, go against the grain, think over the dominant thinking patterns etc. and such intelligences are rarely
valued as worthwhile by their more 'successful' contemporaries.

scientists have also observed higher neuronal power consumption in individuals with superior mental capacities.

I think they are providing research evidence for a view of intelligence as being around speed of connections, connectivity and information handling (e.g. buffering, effective use of shor term memory). Just that point 3 needs, in my opinion, to be developed. It is worth developing I mean. It touches on what makes life worthwhile, what makes a human being 'worthwhile', what the values( quality) of life are. Certainly these sort of things have little to do with the types of intelligence discussed in the article. Why, even a Latin graduate is worthwhile!

I recommend a terrific book by Nancy Andreason, entitled The Creative Brain: the Science of Genius.
