thisnamecantbetaken says: I've never heard of this legend. It is a weird looking mountain though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUYtzpmhB6M Interesting TNCBT. Love these legends of treasure and mystery! I've visited Devil's Tower, but confess to being more intrigued by the prairie dogs in the surrounding fields than I was in the rock tower itself. Every time I see Devil's Tower I think of those mashed potatoes in Close Encounters. LOL. I think that has to be one of the most famous scenes of the movie BMN. I always think of that too. I tried to find a video clip of Richard Dreyfuss sculpting his mash, but I could find any. The best I could do was find a little picture. Oops, typo'ed you. Sorry. It's BNM of course. I just noticed the pic isn't mash either. It's clay. Ugh. Oh well, I think people can see it in their mind's eye. TN Looks like a great vacation spot to camp and explore. I have read articles and watched shows about the gold on the discovery channel. Where I live there is a legend that the Indians said they could shoe their horses with gold, I do not know if they meant it literally or if they was talking about the abundant natural resources. I do not recall ever reading where Indians shod their horses; any great clip. |
